Tin Sam Village, Shatin

In Hong Kong, agriculture was the main occupation of villages before the opening of the port. There are many villages/rural areas named "Tin Sum". The most historic of these is Tin Sum Wai (also known as Tin Sum Village).

Farming was the main occupation of many villages in Hong Kong since the early days until now, and many of them used " Tin Sum " - centre of the farm as their village name with Tin Sum Wai ( Tin Sum Village ) as being one of the most historic.
