During the festival period, there are three ceremonies, namely " walking worship " and " pray and repent " in the morning, noon and evening. "Walking worship" is to offer food and incense to the gods; "pray and repent" is for the Taoist priests to repent for the sins committed on behalf of the villagers.
Sacrifice to Xiaoyou
Usually in the middle of the festival period, there will be a small-scale ghost worship activity, which is mainly a ritual of distributing clothes and offering food to 18 male and 18 female ghosts, a total of 36 little ghosts, called "worshiping the little ghosts". The ritual is inserted with "selling groceries" or "telling ghost stories", in which two Taoist priests tell jokes about buying and selling in the underworld in the form of impromptu crosstalk , telling the villagers a warning lesson, and the content is light-hearted and funny.
