Sacrifice to Dayou

The climax of the whole Jianjiao is "Jiu Dayou" or "Chaoyou Sanjiao", which is to distribute clothes and food to ghosts, which has the effect of transcending . Before the ceremony, the paper-bound face of the Great Master Pudu Zhenjun ( the Great Master King ) will be burned and lifted up to walk around the village, commonly known as "the Great Master's Tour". During the "Jiu Dayou", all the lonely ghosts come to the scene to receive Mengshan food and transcendence. The villagers remain silent. After the cremation of the Great Master King , the main ceremony is officially over and they can start fasting and eat meat. Most Jianjiao communities will arrange a meat hot pot banquet for members after the "Jiu Dayou". And each household will also prepare roasted pork and fruit products to thank the gods in front of the shrine.
