The Tai Ping Qing Jiao in Hong Kong is mainly presided over by Taoist priests from Guangzhou or Dongguan who originated from the Zhengyi School of the Tianshi Temple in Longhu Mountain. The rituals are performed according to an ancient traditional procedure. It is a five-day ritual usually held in rural areas of the New Territories. There are a total of 16 items carried out on different days: drawing water, raising flags, opening the altar, initiating the altar, praying, prohibiting the altar, dividing the lights, announcing the announcement, small ghost, welcoming the saint, worshipping the fighting spirit, walking away for amnesty, releasing animals, large ghost, circumambulating the gods and sending off the gods.

During the Tai Ping Ching Jiao Festival, killing is prohibited. For example, during the three-day festival every year on Cheung Chau, meat is prohibited on the entire island. Island residents and tourists all eat vegetarian food. Even McDonald's only serves vegetarian buns.
