The village holds a ten-year festival, which will be held from October 12 to 15 of the lunar calendar (November 11 to 14 of the Gregorian calendar) this year (the year of Bingshen).
The time for holding the Tai Ping Qing Jiao in this village is always in the tenth month of the lunar calendar. This is because the agricultural society in the past was idle during this period, so there was more manpower and space to hold the Jiao ceremony.
Bun
Taiping Qingjiao, also known as Qingjiao, Qingjiao meeting, Dajiao, Daqingjiao, and Qingjijiao.
There are three Jiaohui in Shatin Township.
The Jiuyue Taiping Qingjiao just ended at the end of last year. At the end of this year, we will go to Tin Sum Wai (also known as Tin Sum Village) for a festival.
Preparation for the festival
The preparation and completion of the Tai Ping Ching Jiao takes about a year, and usually a "jiao committee" needs to be formed one year before the ceremony.
Types of Jiao
There are many types of jiao, such as the qingjiao to pray for or thank the gods for their blessings, which is called qi an jiao.
Activities in various parts of Hong Kong
Dajiao is usually held regularly, but the duration varies depending on each place.
